Following these guidelines helps you maintain peak performance and avoid issues like missing colors or streaking in your prints.

THE ONLY INK THAT BONDS TO COTTON AND SUBLIMATION SUBSTRATES: VersiFlex is the world's first patentedsublimation ink formulated to print on natural fibers like cotton, linen, nylon, canvas, denim, velvet, and chenille while still decorating classic sublimation substrates such as polyester, mugs, tumblers, hard goods, and signage. One ink, one printer, endless creative possibilities.

Why You Don’t Need Black Ink with VersiFlex (CMY Only)

In the VersiFlex ink system, you only use Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow inks—no Black. That’s because these three primary colors can be mixed in just the right ratios to create a rich, deep black, along with a full spectrum of other colors. It’s a technique known as composite black or process black.

Here’s why that’s a smart move:

1. Better Fabric Compatibility
Black pigment inks tend to sit on top of natural fibers like cotton and suede, which can lead to cracking or fading. By blending CMY inks instead, VersiFlex creates a softer, more durable finish that soaks in beautifully and bonds better with the surface.

2. Vibrant, Balanced Color Output
The VersiFlex system is tuned to maintain perfect color harmony. When black is generated from CMY, it blends seamlessly with the surrounding colors, avoiding hard edges or dull transitions that can happen with traditional black ink.

3. Simplified Ink Management
Using three cartridges instead of four means fewer replacements and a lower risk of clogging—plus, it's easier for new users to manage without sacrificing print quality.

So, while it may seem like something's missing, you're actually getting a smarter, more versatile system that's optimized for multi-surface printing and natural materials—exactly what VersiFlex was designed for.
